The Silver Key
Once a rich traveler was traveling during the night. At last, he reached a town. He came to an inn but found the door of the inn locked. The rich traveler knocked on the door. The innkeeper shouted from inside, "Who are you? Why have you come at such a late hour?" he continued, "Why have you wanted to? The door is locked and so can not be opened." The rich man was badly shivering with cold. He again requested the innkeeper to open the door. "I am helpless," replied the innkeeper." It is a strange lock and can only be opened with a silver key. "The rich man understood the intention of the innkeeper, passed a rupee through a silt and got the door opened and the traveler went in.
The rich man was also very clever. He said, "I have forgotten my bag outside. Will you please fetch it for me?" No sooner did the inn-keeper go outside, than the rich man bolted the door from inside. The greedy innkeeper now requested him to open the door. The rich man gave the same reply. "I am helpless." It is a strange lock that can only be opened with a silver key. "The innkeeper pushed the same coin through the silt. The traveler took his coin back and opened the door."
