Union is Strength
An old man had three sons. They always quarreled among themselves. The old man tried in vain to improve their relations.
At last, the old man fell ill and was nearly on his deathbed. His sons gathered around his bed, concerned for their father. He asked them to bring a bundle of sticks, and they obeyed him. He then asked each of them, one by one, to try and break the bundle. Despite their best efforts, none of them could do it.
The old man smiled at their failure and told them to untie the bundle and break the sticks individually. This time, it was quite easy. Even the youngest son managed to break the sticks with ease. The old man called his sons closer and said, "Union is strength." Though the words were few, they profoundly affected his sons. After his death, they began to live in peace and happiness, remembering their father's wise lesson.
